Meet Our Leaders

Liz Adams
Founder/Partner
Liz Adams brings over 22 years of executive nonprofit experience, specializing in nationwide fundraising, strategic planning, and organizational growth. She has led revenue expansion through innovative fundraising models, peer-to-peer campaigns, special events, and individual and corporate giving.
Throughout her career, Liz has held leadership roles, including Chief Development Officer at the Alzheimer’s Association and Executive Vice President at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, where she spearheaded the $1 billion Breakthrough MS Campaign. During her 14 years at the American Heart Association, she developed high-impact growth strategies, led teams, and partnered with boards to drive mission success.
Beyond fundraising, Liz is a recognized expert in development strategy, training, and capacity building. She has led training teams and deployed large-scale learning initiatives, ensuring nonprofit professionals have the skills and tools to succeed.
As a consultant, she has worked across the health, conservation, sports, and service sectors, helping organizations refine strategies, break down silos, and build lasting donor and community relationships.
Passionate about empowering nonprofits, Liz holds a Master’s in Higher Education and Counseling from the University of Denver and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from Utah State University. Through her work with Savvy Strategies and the Savvy Nonprofit Institute, she continues to help organizations strengthen their impact through expert-led training, coaching and strategic guidance.

Anne Marie Forbes

Anne Marie is a seasoned nonprofit leader with a proven track record of driving results, casting vision, and aligning organizational resources to maximize impact. With extensive experience in governance, strategic planning, fundraising, and relationship-building, she has played a pivotal role in increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of local, regional, and national organizations.
Her expertise has supported mission-driven organizations such as the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Alzheimer’s Association, and Autism Speaks, where she has led innovative initiatives that have transformed fundraising and engagement strategies and built dedicated communities deeply invested in a cause. Through inspiring communication, aspirational goal-setting, and practical, actionable tools, Anne Marie has helped nonprofit organizations raise hundreds of millions of dollars to advance their missions.
As a consultant, she has partnered with nonprofits of all sizes to strengthen operations, enhance fundraising strategies, and drive sustainable growth. A sought-after speaker and facilitator, she frequently presents at nonprofit conferences, board and staff retreats, and executive gatherings, equipping leaders with the insights and strategies they need to succeed.
